Hello. I'm Allen Gregory, the owner and operator
of Buckies Taxidermy. I named my business after a pet deer I raised in 1985 named Buckie.
I started doing taxidermy on a part-time basis
twenty-six years ago because I always had the desire. I believe this desire came from God. He gives us all special talents to use and mine is artistry. I have always loved animals and taxidermy gives me this chance to recreate God's creation.
After seven years the business grew. I left my
full time job as a Hoist Technician to do taxidermy as a full time career. In pursuit of wanting to be
the best, I took a Master Taxidermy Class with World Champion Taxidermist, Joe Meder in Solon, Iowa. Through this class I gained additional knowledge, including techniques needed to add realism to the game heads and life size animals.
This class challenged me to compete at the Michigan Taxidermy Association Competition. Over the years I took first, second, and third place with my deer mounts (see photos below). My specialties are game heads and mammals such as whitetail deer, mule deer, antelope, elk, moose, caribou, bear, fox, coyote and bobcat. I also raised a whitetail deer for 12 years named Sparky. He provided an excellent frame of reference to recreate a true life-like mount.
At Buckies Taxidermy, I strive to create realistic top quality mounts, with no shorts cuts. My experience, creativity and desire for excellence provide the best quality mounts, lasting a lifetime
for my customers. You can view photos of my work by visiting the links on this website.
I have been serving Southeastern Michigan for twenty-six years. Including counties such as Washtenaw, Wayne, Macomb, Livingston, Jackson
and Ingham.
I hope you enjoyed Buckies Taxidermy website. I'm looking forward to serving you with your taxidermy needs. Please call or stop by and take a look at my show room.
Thank you
Allen Gregory
